P!NK is back with her newest single, "So What?" P!NK seems to have really found her own, unique voice while keeping her urban, punk, pop, and rock "sound" ever-present in this new, upbeat jam. While namedropping co-celebs like Jessica Simpson and her ex-hubby, Carey Hart, P!NK continues to rock the "sexy-but-i'll-kick-your-ass" vibe.

Her 5th studio release, which is still untitled, is due to be released on October 26th. Pick it up!

Your First Look: “Alice In Wonderland”

Amazing director and one of my personal faves, Tim Burton has taken the enormous task of re-doing Lewis Carroll’s hit novel, Alice In Wonderland.  With an all-star cast consisting of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway, Burton has everything he needs to make an amazing and captivating film.

Now, your first look at the three main characters: Alice, The Mad Hatter, and The Queen of Hearts.

Enjoy!

Mariah Carey Puts Finishing Touches on Her New Album, MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, for August 25th Release

“OBSESSED,” FIRST NEW SINGLE PICK - GOES TO RADIO ON JUNE 16th - WRITTEN & PRODUCED BY MARIAH, THE-DREAM AND TRICKY STEWART

“The 1st single from my new album MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL is called ‘Obsessed’ and will be at radio next Tuesday. I’m a lil’ exc … Seriously, this is one of my favorite songs ever. I love the whole album. I’m completely immersed in it. I can’t wait for you to hear it. LY”
- Mariah Carey, on Twitter

First came the emancipation, then came energy and power, and now comes MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, the new album by international superstar Mariah Carey, scheduled to arrive on August 25th. The first new single pick from MEMOIRS is “Obsessed,” which blasts out to radio today, Tuesday, June 16th. The video for “Obsessed” will be directed by Brett Ratner. “Obsessed” was written and produced by Mariah, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, who are responsible for the majority of tracks on the new album. MEMOIRS was executive-produced by Antonio “L.A.” Reid.

MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, the 12th studio album of Mariah’s career, is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to her RIAA platinum-selling album E=MC² (released April 15, 2008), and her worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (released April 12, 2005). Both were Soundscan #1 debut albums that made chart history for Mariah in the U.S. and numerous territories around the globe.

The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. The album debuted at #1 on first week sales of 404,000 copies, Mariah’s highest first week sales total (until E=MC²). Soundscan’s biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured “We Belong Together” (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and “Don’t Forget About Us,” Mariah’s 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley’s 17 #1’s.

Three years later, E=MC² debuted at #1 on first week sales of 463,000 copies, which now stands as the highest first week sales total of Mariah’s career. The album’s success brought total sales of Mariah’s albums, singles and videos to more than 160 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

E=MC² spun off four singles: “Touch My Body,” “Bye Bye,” “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time,” and “I Stay In Love.” Of these, “Touch My Body” made history when it became Mariah’s 18th #1 Hot 100 hit, thus surpassing Elvis Presley. “Touch My Body”’s two weeks at the top also marked Mariah’s 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis’ long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated in Billboard.com. At the same time, Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

Adam Lambert’s “Coming Out” Interview

adamWell, pieces of it!  I told ya’ll awhile back that Adam Lambert was going to be on the cover of Rolling Stone this upcoming issue declaring his homosexuality (like, duh).  Well, the cover has arrived and I also have some of the interview for you to read as well….

On his early attempts at songwriting, “My songs were like campy, sexy electro, like Peaches and Goldfrapp. I can look back now and realize I wasn’t very good at it. I was trying to put in way too many words. I was trying to be way too melodramatic and serious, you know? It’s like what a junior high student does with poetry. But over the course of a couple years, I started really trying to listen to what worked out there in music, like hooks — and realized that less is more. The simple idea is better in a song.”

On where he wants to go musically, “I want to do something that has theatricality, a nod to the glam rockers that I love, but is also contemporary. It’s not all going to be happy-go-lucky because I think it’s important to explore other emotional parts of yourself as an artist, but there’s a time and place for it. I would love to work with Madonna. I’m a big fan. I just want to play dress up and be fabulous. When you’re a kid, you do the make-believe thing — you play dress-up and pretend. That’s the child mentality, and I feel like if you’re an adult and you can adopt the child mentality to something cool, that’s what being a “rock star” is. It’s just playing. It’s Halloween. It’s make-believe. It’s fun. And who doesn’t want to do that? That’s the kind of music that I want to make — music that encourages people to play make-believe, escape and have fun.”

On experiencing discrimination, “A few years ago, I did a musical with Val Kilmer, The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. I was finally personally awakened, wearing nail-polish, feeling attractive and comfortable in my own skin for the first time. We’d go out sometimes with Val, and it was the first time I’d ever been around a celebrity — it felt really fabulous. One night, we hung out at his house and Sean Lennon came over to jam with us. I was like, John Lennon’s son? This is the coolest thing I’ve done in my life. But I had a lot of problems with the people putting on the show. One day, the director pulled me aside and said, “Can you turn it down? The producers are a little uncomfortable. It’s a little too … gay.” I was like, “Um, are we doing a musical here? I’m sorry, there are fags all over the place, dude.” It was very upsetting.”

On making his sexuality public, “There are so many old-fashioned ways of looking at things, and if we want to be a progressive society, we have to start thinking in a different way. There’s the old industry idea that you should just make sexuality a non-issue, just say your private life’s your private life, and not talk about it. But that’s bullshit, because private lives don’t exist anymore for celebrities: they just don’t. I don’t want to be looking over my shoulder all the time, thinking I have to hide, being scared of being found out, putting on a front, having a beard, going down the red carpet with some chick who is posing as my girlfriend. That’s not cool, that’s not being a rock star. I can’t do that.”

So, there ya have it.  Does this change your opinion on Adam?

Mariah’s About To Be EVERYWHERE!

tennessee_dvdSurprisingly, Mrs. Carey-Cannon has been predominately under the radar as of lately.  Why, you ask?  She was hard at work on her new album, the follow up to the highly-successful E=MC2.  Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel will arrive this fall but Mariah wants her new stuff heard now!

Mariah’s first single from her upcoming disc, Obsessed, is slated to premiere this upcoming Tuesday, June 16th via Chicago’s B96 website.  Instantly afterwards, check back here for the official download of the song.

Apart from music, Mariah currenly has 3 movies coming out this year…yep, three!  And actually, she has garnered rave reviews in all of the films, even at big events such as the Cannes and Sundance film festivals.  First on deck?  Tennessee is currently released to limited theaters (very, very limited) and will be available on DVD September 1st!

Next?  The Oprah & Tyler Perry backed film, Precious, in which Mariah plays a social worker that works throughout the movie with the film’s star, an abused rape victim named Precious.

Can’t wait for what’s to come!
